this is my brother....he lives with our mum and he is a very aggressive angry person the majority of the time.......
he was playing very roughly with my 4yr old sister.....mum asked him to stop and calm down abit...he throws ds on floor , hurts her knee..she screams blue murder.........mum tells DB to say sorry...he screams at dm with fists raised....dm screams back and says get up stairs.......db screams that he's going to slit her throat.......dm runs upstairs, takes db tv out of his room and db then says he's going to slit his own throat....

....its been left with him upstairs.....but what on earth does she do for the long run?....this is not the first time this has happened.....and i keep telling her that she is putting her and ds in danger as he is out of control......he needs help, but dm is scared.

db is a lovely boy when he's good....he doesnt erally go out with alot of friends...he doesnt smoke or drink at all...he's cheeky at school...but not as bad as some teenagers......but at home he is a foal mouthed horrble scary person.....help! any advice?

That sounds pretty darn scarey.
Even if you really think it's only talk, I'd still be thinking about what kind of anger management techniques the boy should be learning. Maybe his high school has a counsellor who can advise?

Your poor DM . I'd say, from the outside looking in, that this is a boy who needs help (as does your DM). We got help for our DS by going to our GP,who then referred us to c child psychologist. I'm not saying that this is the raod that they'll be point ed down, but your DM's GP may have access to other resources. Good luck .

Just a question - why did dm take tv out of his room? Teenagers can sometimes act like big toddlers. Sounds to me like your brother was having a tantrum. But he did do as he was told, he stopped, then he went to remove himself from the situation. Obviously upset and at 13 trying to save face perhaps? What would have happened if dm had left him alone when he went upstairs? Does he calm down and then she might have been able to reason with him? When you say he plays roughly with 4yo is that because he wants to hurt her or because he has grown and doesn't recognise the increase in his strength.
Could be way off here I know but if he hasn't intentionally hurt anyone and he's okay outside, their doesn't sound too much wrong with him apart from an inability to cope just like a toddler at the terrible two stage he might be at the terrible teen stage.

Sorry no advice, but hoping custardo will see this - she's the teen expert I think (I'm already making mental notes for 8/10 years hence)

Your poor dm, no-one should be scared of their own child - but it certainly happens.

dm took tv away because he'd only just earnt it back after biting a chunk out of my sister leg.....yes shocking i know..i was disgusted in him.

he is the type of person who acts and thinks later....he is always very sorry afterwards when he's calmed down...but that doesnt stop him doing it again..

i do think he is going through his terrible teenager stage...which i did too..but in a different way....and i hope he will grow out of it soon...but its hard in the mean time, when he's being vicious..
thanks for your advice and support everyone xxx
