Tiny school clothes ideas please

My dd2 starts school in september. She is 4 but tiny (0.4 centile) and is wearing 18-24 month clothes and size 6 feet. She grows very little so I'm not expecting her to grow much at all between now and september.

Does anyone have any suggestions where i can get very small school clothes please!

M&S does size 3 clothes. Most people get them to grow into so she won't look out of place if they're a little big. You can order them if you haven't one near.
Ds went in shorts in September but no one would have noticed as there was only about 1/2 " between the end of his shorts and the start of his ankle length socks. Grin

Next do size 3 too I think and our schools tiniest jumpers are size 22 my ds started in a 28 at age 3 and he was average so they must be tiny

Ok thanks guys. My dd1 has always been above average in size so have never had to worry before for uniform!

Most places do size 2-3. You can get trousers with adjustable waist and then take the legs up. Next do "slim fit" (still adjustable waist) which are better as there is less material around the bum! Or get a-line pinafore dresses and take those up.

(use Loctite 595 glue if you don't like sewing!)

She won't be the only tiny one. And most of the class will be wearing jumpers that reach their knees.

M&S are good for small uniform, try to get the trousers with the buttoned elastic, and that don't look too odd turned up a few times.
School uniform shops can be a good source of odd sized clothes too, but they're priceySad

Quite a few schools are doing uniform for nursery age kids now, so there are quite a few smaller sizes available. Maybe she'll have a growth spurt and surprise you Grin.

Just to add - DD1 was/is exactly the same. I really first noticed on DD2's first birthday they were both wearing same size clothes (there is 27 months age difference so DD1 was 3.3yo). DD2 has always been in age appropriate clothing and even now DD1 can still wear socks/tops/jumpers belonging to DD2, who was 3 last week.

DD1 is now 5.3yo and does really seem to have done nothing but grow in the last 12 months. She started school in September in clothes for aged 3 - 4 and cardigans/jumpers size 24. Most things do look rather baggy on her - although short-sleeved blouses are good and all skirts/trousers have adjustable waists. She spent the first half term in summer dresses which looked lovely.

Only gripe is that I expect nothing to fit DD2 when she starts school as everything would probably fit her already and she won't start school until 2013, by which time I expect she will have overtaken her big sister!
