dining chair booster for round chair

hi

can anyone recommend a booster chair for a dining chair that is round? ds is getting old enough (and a bit less messy enough) to sit at the table and move out of his high chair. this is the table and chairs that we have.

many thanks!

Would this be any use...?

reading i might be being really slow but not quite sure i fully get it, does it basically lift the actual chair? if so that looks pretty nifty!

mrsmicawber sorry i didn't say ds' age, hes 19mo, he grew out of the bumbo at about 9mo! thanks for the suggestion.

I got a good one in tesco or asda that basically can be tied onto any chair, its a square cushion with a waist harness and harnesses/clips that go around the back of the chair and underneath. theoretically should fit any chair. Can't remember if tesco or asda, but their websites would probably have them? about £15.

PS we stopped using highchair at about 22m, he's 26m now and the booster cushion seat has been brilliant :)

hi brighton i couldn't find one on asda or tesco but is this the kind you mean? that is the kind i was thinking of buying originally but then i got to thinking would it fit in our chairs...do you think it would fit a round type chair (link above for the exact chairs we have!)? as the straps would need to be extra long. thanks!

i don't think any of the regular booster seats will work because there is no wahy of threading the strap under the chair itself is there?

the kaboost is great, we have one at my mums house and it works really well

thisisyesterday · 28/12/2011 17:15

actually, looking closer i think you'd get the straps under the chair, but not sure how tight it would hold?
if the seat slid forwards a bit the straps would become loose as the chair narrows towards the front

Think you'll struggle with any form of traditional booster - does he still need to be strapped in? What about a cushion or 2? My dad made a booster from a shoebox filled with something heavy which they just put onto the chair as required with a folded towel for padding.

WHat about those highchair/boosters which hook over the back of chairs like this www.amazon.co.uk/Minui-HandySitt-Portable-Highchair-Black/dp/B001HFQF0Q/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1325092600&sr=8-17 or a booster cushion like this one (from the states unfortunately) www.amazon.com/Prince-Lionheart-Soft-Booster-Seat/dp/B00029T4D8/ref=sr_1_6?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1325092701&sr=1-6

Yes it lifts whole chair. And means they can get up and down on their own (not necessarily a good thing!) and feel like one of the grown ups. I really like ours - and it is pretty portable too.

brightonbleach · 29/12/2011 10:20

hi, mine is kind of like that (& I remember now it was tescos, instore and not online), but mine is simpler, a blue square cushion with slightly padded back, long/adjustable straps for the back of the chair AND underneath. It works well for us anyway :)

thanks everyone. we tried doradoo's idea of a shoebox this morning and it worked wonderfully!! then i glanced over the kitchen floor and happened to catch sight of ds' footstool, its one of those ikea ones that are round-shaped to fit round the bottom of a bathroom sink but we keep it in the kitchen...so i swapped the shoebox with that, it wedged in perfectly in our round chair and ds was very happy! thanks doradoo for providing the inspiration behind our solution, and best of all we didn't have to buy anything or fill our house with even more expensive paraphenalia Grin
