Hiya, when I try to feed my 13m "Real food" or "finger food" - she chews it and then just pushes her tongue out and all the food comes back out. She still loves her milk and has that but isn't eating much else. of course, when her Grandma gave her crisps and chocolate the other day ( to my horror) - she eat that quite happily so I know she can chew and swallow! Has anyone else had this issue? any advice would be gratefully recieved. Ta. xx

Just keep putting food in front of her and ignore the spitting. Don't have the YUK reaction.

Is quite normal. Just ignore it and carry on as normal.

She'll grow out of it.

She's very young and just learning how to eat. I'd just ignore it and make sure you don't turn it into a game.

yep, ignore ignore ignore

put down newspaper to catch the remnants, under the high chair

just a learning curve, mine tasted things and pushed them back out if he didn't like it or sometimes it would take him a while to get used to a new texture so he would try it in his mouth and then get rid of it, actually swallowing it another time. hes 25m now and will often lick something first to make sure he recognises it or likes it!!!! don't have too much of a reaction to any of it as they seem to like to play on that,..,...

I have the same with my 15month old! he loves eating choc and crisps and things like that but when every I give him any thing else he just spits it out! (not including milk)

I just ignore but it is a bit hard when older sister is giggling her head of and shouting at me trying to make me look! (she is 3years old by the way) :) Xmas Blush

Ds was like this, I thought he would never just eat. Around 15/16 months it just changed and very little is spat out or thrown now.

Plastic tablecloth under the highchair and just get on with your own mea while making pleasant chit chat.
