How do I get my nearly eight week old baby to have a good sleep, past the 15mins rem sleep. He isn't settling at all well especially the morning naps we're both so exausted from that either him not sleeping at all or unsettled up and down sleep I just take him out in the buggy and he sleeps! But don't want to get into that, been there and done it with my 3year old daughter not easy... Any tips welcome...

Have you tried a sleeping bag? I think it makes them feel snug and if you do it every time you put them down, they will start to associate it with going to sleep. My dd brings hers to me or just lies down on it now if she's tired!

I would also advocate sticking fairly closely to a routine but other people will probably disagree.

You could try some sort of white noise like a fan or similar in the room? Or one of those music things that projects onto the ceiling?

Hope you get some more sleep soon.

You could try a sling for sleep in the day. If he gets better sleep in the day he MAY sleep better at night.

I say may as it worked with my seconed but not with my first who was just a bad sleeper no matter what we did.

My DD slept in her sleeping bag until around 8 weeks when she became unwell with a cold. From then on she needed to be cuddled every time she needed sleep. I found that tiring so tried swaddling but not like they do in hospital which is too light. I got a huge piece of cloth (a cot mattress sheet) and wrapped her up tightly in it with the extra cloth wound around and then the bottom excess flipped under her. She now sleeps soundly like this from 4:30-2:00. Shame she doesn't understand that I would like her to sleep a bit later on!
Good luck with the different methods you might try and I hope you find something. My ds needed to be driven in the car on the motorway to get him to sleep!
Btw there are videos on YouTube showing how to swaddle.

Try a Morrck baby hoodie and the car seat on the floor. I don't leave my DD in for more than two hours and only once a day, but it seems to work

I used a sling - when they're that little it's hard to remember that their awake periods are actually very short. How long is she awake before you try outting her down?

The sling gets them used to napping then you can work on location after a couple of weeks.
