Hi,

Not sure where best post this. We're abroad and I have NO IDEA who are the popular characters (but do know Peppa Pig!) that kids love now. Please update me. DD is 5 and DS is 3. Any suggestions on any "educational" TV programs for them?

Many thanks! This site is so useful!

Show me Show me is good as they do songs/actions/words that they ask the kids to join in with and do storytime and so on; quite an active watch but still fun. I think kids of the age you're asking about will like the Zingzillas, thats a musical band of monkeys living on an island (!), theres always a music theme that gets explained in a fun way and real-life musicians (from classical to rock to vocal to pop - we've seen harpists/rock bands/pianists/choirs/opera/pop/electronica/blues guitar/japanese drumming, all sorts on there) :)

Ok, I have kids this age. They both watch cbeebies and enjoy lots of programmes from that- a favourite is Mike the Knight at the moment. Apart from that peppa pig, and then ben and holly's magic kingdom is very popular (and sweet) too. They just got some mr men and little miss dvds from relatives for christmas as well and they were enjoyed too. On cbeebies there's postman pat, bob the builder, and many many more. So far my 5 year old is happy watching the "younger" stuff and this suits me fine ;-)). Not sure how much of this is "educational" but they do both take ideas from the T.V. into their play so I don't so they are certainly engaged with a lot of what they watch.

My 3 year old loves Mr Bloom's Nursery, all about plants and gardens with singing!
