I know this is a mn fave, but this past few days ds, 10.5 mo has learned to climb out of it and onto the table! Has anyone else had this problem? What do I do? Fashion some kind of shoulder strap/ harness? help!

buy one of those cheap shoulder harnesses and attach it to the chair.
luckily it is usually only a phase and he will stop trying to cimb out soon.

Blimey! My DS never managed that!

I would think that a five point harness would not be terribly difficult to retrofit - you could use a soldering iron to melt the extra holes needed?

Or attach over-the-shoulder straps to the existing waist strap?

Have you definitely done the existing waist strap up tightly as possible?

Mine can do this and I have solved the problem with...SHOES! If he has a largish pair of shoes on, he can't get his feet back through the footholes. I understand this may sound odd, and probably only works if your DS has enormous hoofs like mine, but maybe you could try something similar??

We bought one of these (the reins bit is detachable so you're left with just the harness). You can attach it through the holes on the top of the seat. It is fiddly but manageable. Worked well for us and he got over this phase within a couple of months. We're still using the chair now he's 2. We have the opposite problem now - I'd quite like him to be able to climb in and out himself but that's not an option with this chair. Am thinking of getting a booster seat now as not up for getting another chair.

Yes dd did that very early on... I was on edge constantly if I had to nip to kitchen to get her a drink etc. So much so we moved her to a chair... Which was a pain as she could get down but she was safe.

My twins can climb out of theirs too, so I just do the strap up under their dungarees. This obviously doesn't work in the mornings before they are dressed but they wear dungers 95% of the time so it works for us.
