Ok I have a slight book buying 'habit' but having flicked through super nanny and gina ford and toddler taming recently I'm on the hunt for a new parenting book.
Any suggestions?

playful parenting is good
think gina ford is very prescriptive - neither of them actually have children

Gina ford did my head in the minute she told me what I could have for breakfast! Just put playful parenting on my kindle. Thank you

you're welcome

it is sometimes hard to be the mum you want to be, rather than the one you are

the one think i absolutely have learnt is to try and trust myself, just me and to also truly forgive myself if i stuff it up.

"How to talk so kids will listen (and listen so kids will talk)"

Penelope Leach Your Baby and child is beautifuly written, sensible, flexible, and most importantly, compassionate. A classic and rightly so.

I'm reading this book and the techniques work on husbands as well.Grin

Not sure how old your kids are ' How to talk' etc is great when they are older, but it's a bit advanced for my three year old - for babies I would recommend 'The Baby Whisperer solves all your problems' not as prescriptive as Gina Ford (and really did solve my problems until she was about 2, and I gave her a sister.....)
