Anyone else have a dd with wide (h) feet

I've just had my 14 month old fitted for her first shoes, she's a size 5 h. There are no boots that go this wide in Clarks (not until size 7) I want a 'dress' shoe or boot not a trainer in a go with everything colour (brown/black/grey/deep red?) and I'm limited to about 3 (quite ugly) styles all purple or raspberry.

Any ideas on where I could go please?

Clarks or Startrite have been our only option sadly all the DD's life Sad

We've always had to ask for what they have got in their size (G/H) and THEN if we were lucky we might have a choice of colours/styles.

These were favourite when they were small "Doodles" the canvas ones can get slung in the wash when mucky, & often an "F" fit will be comfortable as they are quite a wide fit.

We were bereft once they grew out of the top size!!

dc2 was a 5h and stayed h for a year or so. I chose some nice boys shoes from clarks which were comfy and went with anything. She didn't notice and by the time she was 3 her feet were g.We also had this type of boot which were really cute and looked nice with skirts or trousers here

Thanks moredofbums this is what I have put by actually , I just hesitated as it wasn't what I had in mind but I may not have any choice as it turns out.

yes, my almost 3yo DD is the same and always has been. Only this last fitting she went down to a G but has been H since first fitting.

We went to an old fashioned independent shoe shop locally who had some other makes of shoes which tended to be wider (italian, I think, not helpful that I can't remember the name) but were about the same price. Have you tried somewhere like that? But yes, we too have struggled with boots.

This winter I have managed to get a great fitting pair of ugg style boots for £12 in Sainsburys. I wouldn't advocate wearing them day in day out, but for odd hours they are a great, warm alternative. Because they are pull on, they are much wider fitting. But for ordinary daily wear shoes we have again ended up with yet another pair of clarks!
