Weaning off dummy = using bottle/milk for comfort?

My dd is almost 7mo and for almost 2 weeks has gone without a dummy. We went 'cold turkey' and she appears to be doing well without it, especially at night (day time naps have always been difficult even with the dummy). However recently she has also been wanting more and more milk, she is having 4 7oz and 1 5oz bottles a day. She is necking them and still looking like she wants more (today she got a bit upset when she realised it was empty). Prior to this she always left an ounce or 2 depending on how hungry she was. I have been under the impression she would start wanting less milk as time went on and maybe drop a bottle! Her intake of solids remains the same, maybe slightly more than when we started weaning.

Do you think it is possible she is substituting the milk/bottle for comfort instead of her dummy? Or do dc's have a growth spurt at this age?

My DS never took a dummy so I'm not sure about that.

But, I do vaguely remember he went through a growth spurt at that time - as they are growing more, learning new skills and need energy.

If I were you I'd go with the flow and let her have milk if it's a reasonable amount and as long as she's still eating solids.

Her dummy was always a comfort for her, the solids are still new and as she knows and likes her milk she is clinging to that for familiarity. I think that is pretty normal behaviour.
