HIS HE AT NURSARY if he his could he be getting bullid this happened to ds last year and found out when he came home with a hugh bite, when we asked how he got it it all came out about this boy hitting him and lots of things

ignore him .. he's trying to obtain control of his environment. .. perfectly natural

he just wants things done the way he wants them, its a sign of burgeoning individuality and one we should, if not too stressed by the inevitable tantrumy, spoilt brat behaviour be really pleased to see

if you can step back and just laugh at him, not see it as a problem that needs to be fixed but just as something he needs to work through .. walk away .. give him no attention he'll realise that there's far more fun things to do eventually

My ds1 is also like this, getting stressed over little things. He usually does it when he's very tired or hungry, could that be the case with your ds?

Enid · 06/01/2006 10:31

mine cries at everything (dd2, 3)

its really annoying

I now say 'yes you can have a drink, if you stop crying and ask nicely' or 'calm down, its only the light, stop crying please or there will be no Fifi'

harsh but fair

Re the snacks thread, I would also make sure he wasn't hungry or thirsty. Ds could be extremely unreasonable if he needed a drink or snack.
It's hard being three sometimes, having so little control and wanting it so desperately. Obviously you don't want to give in to rage but can you distract him?

don't they call it the 'terrible twos' and then the 'troublesome threes'!
