2.6 yr old DD Taking nappy off at bed time

Recently my dd has started to take her pyjama bottoms off and her nappy. She then puts her nappy back in the nappy tub where they are kept and her pj bottoms back in the drawer where they are kept.

She then sleeps quite happily through the night, but in the morning the bed is wet.

When she does manage to keep her clothers on her nappy is always wet in the morning so I don't think she is trying to tell me she is ready for night time potty training.

She has been day time potty trained now for approx 3 months and is quite happy to go on the potty.

My MIL says I should leave her potty in her room over night and see what happens. Not really keen on this idea as she might end up trying to empty it some where she should not Smile

Tonight I am putting her in all in one pyjamas and will see if she manages to get out of them.

Any ideas what I can do to try and keep her nappy on if this fails or should I try night time potty training?

You could wait until she's asleep and then put the nappy back on.

We leave a potty in the room - they are 2.7 & 3.5... both use it and (touch wood) it hasn't been tipped up anywhere..

We also tho on the youngest use 'night underpants' (pull ups) and tell him these will help him not wet his favourite banky... slightly different slant - as oppose to making them feel 'babyish' again with nappies... less confusing signals?

or worst case, are those bed mat things any good that go under the covers?

The bed mats are excellent.
I used to put them over the sheets. They absorb everything. If my DCs ever had an accident I simply whipped off the mat and the bed was fine to sleep on for the rest of the night. The ones I have stay dry to the touch even after an accident. It's just a shame their PJs don't! :o
