Are alphabet foam floor puzzles safe??

Hi there,

Our DD is approaching 6 months, very curious and enjoys her tummy time.
We have a hard wooden floor in the lounge and at the moment she plays on her activity mat under which I placedt a folded yoga mat to give it some cushioning.
I am exploring getting some alphabet foam floor puzzle tiles to lay down and create a fun safe corner for her to play. I recently read that these foam floor tiles were banned and linked to materials that could cause cancer.

Does anyone know anymore about this ban? Any other suggestions on safe flooring?

Thank you.

I am also interested in replies to this as I've recently been looking into the foam mats and read the same, so I have decided not to buy them until I know more. I'd rather not risk it tbh. But I have been unable to find any safer alternatives which are relatively inexpensive.
We currently use blankets and a rug on our wood flooring.

i found this link a while back when i was researching what mats to get for my baby:

i know a friend of mine bought the korean foam mat which is supposed to be toxin-free. she got it from here: www.bebemat.co.uk/

hope that helps!

I have two of these mats in our living room. One is the numbers mat from the early learning centre and one is the letters mat.

Do you think these would be OK?

I have a 5 year old and a 6 month old. If I stop the 6 month old putting the things in her mouth is it OK to have in the house - are their fumes coming off it.

This has really panicked me.
