She wants to be called "Mummy"

The woman person in my house insists on being called "mummy", although why she would want to be called something that clearly means "boob" is beyond me. She really is most insistent on the point, resisting all my attempts to explain that her real name is "dada". I have been very consistent on this point, repeating the word Dada loudly every time that she tries to say that she is in fact called Mummy... Should I be concerned at her recalcitrance? - after all she is 37 years old - I fear she may be backward. (On other points she appears to be progressing - she now understands that "GUMMY" shouted very loudly with pointing means "give me that AT ONCE".)

YANBU. My human doesn't seem to have grasped that "Meow" means she should feed me before descending the stairs, switching on the kettle or in fact using her horrible wet litter tray.

Disgusting.

Grin I agree, my dada1 keeps telling dada2 to get me to call her "mummy", what is this obsession? I shall have to have her referred...

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 19/11/2011 15:42

For some strange reason the woman person in my house can't understand why I call her Yeah Yeah. Clearly thats the best description for her. This Mummy, or even Mama which I think she hopes is easier for me to say is just plain wrong. She is clearly a Yeah Yeah. Also she seems to yelp when I grab her hair with a clammy hand. Clammy is for the best grip. Does she want me to fall?!

I think I am a bit older than some of the posters here, my female adult is failing to respond to "get it NOW NOW NOW NOW". Most frustrating. I feel I may have to throw a tantrum if she tells me one more time to say please.

My mummy, would you believe, does not respond to louder and louder cries of 'mine mine mine mine'!

The other day she let me stand in the kitchen, alone, screaming this at the Tesco Vouchers, which are so obviously mine mine mine, that she had put on a shelf I could not reach, for over 15 minutes! She even took the step stool away!!!!

I just don't know about these mummies today...

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 19/11/2011 17:13

aah, but notice how your female adult has brain washed you into calling her or referring to her as mummy Hmm......

brightonbleach · 19/11/2011 18:13

fourthousandholes I am 2 and certainly not a baby any more :) when I have capitulated and called the female one "mum-mum" , she gasps and water comes from her eyes - so its obviously wrong!! Confused Why doesn't she know that everyone is called Daddy or Dada?!?! I will obviously be smarter than her by some margin when I too am tall.

Sirzy · 19/11/2011 18:37

I call her the same name as everyone else and she conplains! Why should I call her mummy when nobody else does?
