Getting rid of older child's dummy but keeping younger child's...

Help! I've got a four year old and a two year old who share a room and both have dummies. We're desperate to get rid of the older one's dummy as she looks too old to have one and her teeth are starting to protrude. I think she's ready but is it fair to take hers away and not her sister's?

Should I just bite the bullet and do both at the same time (younger is 3 in January)? We were thinking of leaving all the dummies out for father christmas but I feel it is unfair on the younger because she's just not ready yet. Also worried about having a terrible xmas with nobody sleeping.

Help!

Big up the older ne's grown up ness? Give her something special that shows she's the older one and being older gets you privileges?

I would do both at the same time. In my opinion, it's better to get it over with during the holidays rather than during term-time and you'll only have to do it once.
