(Managing, in the process, to soak 2 double matresses and one brand new single. I know, I know, plastic sheets, but tbh they all took us by surprise).

She has been dry at nights for about 4 months. Maybe 2 or 3 accidents since dropping the nappies, and all understandable (eg very late night, extra tired, disrupted routine, dreamed she was going to the loo).

Last 3 nights running she has done a massive wee in the bed in the middle of the night.

Normal? One of those things?

Back into nappies?

Stress related?

Possible UTI?

Anything to be concerned about, or just put on plastic sheets and see how we go?

My 5 year old has wet the bed almost every night in the past week! I have no idea why but am considering getting some pull ups.

allhailtheaubergine · 29/10/2011 17:38

Was it completely unexpected too?

allhail, is she very thirsty as well? I don't want to worry you, but the first inkling we had that DS1 had type 1 diabetes was bedwetting, followed by excessive thirst in the night - screaming out for water, which we refused to give in case it made him wet the bed again Sad.

My 4.5 yr old had been in pull ups and dry for months. Persuaded her to ditch the pull ups mid September. Dry every night till last weekend where we had wet two night in a row, then a dry night, then wet again now dry three nights - but i'm on tenterhooks!

NO idea why Hmm She doesn't want to back in to pull ups so for now I've got some bed mats and we'll see how we go.

No noticeable thirst, no. But thank you for mentioning it.

That's good allhail. I hope you get it sorted Smile

What really upsets me is when she snuffles into my bed at some point during the night, does a bloody great widdle, wakes me up to tell me and hand me her soaking pyjamas, and then wanders off to get back into her own nice warm dry bed while her father and I stand blinking in the bedroom, looking dolefully at the large puddle in the middle of our bed.

My 4 yo dd has wet the bed, twice in recent weeks. Never wet the bed before, straight out of nappies.

I was a bit worried, then the font of all wisdom, my DMIL, said it's winter its cold, they do that sometimes.I felt much better she's so wise.

My DS only wets bed when ill or just before he becomes ill.

That would be my first thought.

Northernlurker · 29/10/2011 20:03

I did wonder if it's the autumn/seasonal changes messing with their rhythm. V comforting to see others having the same problem

Urine infection?
When ds wet the bed a few nights in a row after being dry for a year the GP said that unusual wetting almost always had a reason and made sure it was checked out.
