My lo is 6mo and from first thing in the morning to when she goes to bed, she is screaming/shrieking all day long.. The only peace I get is when she is asleep. If I leave her to it, she screams, if I try to distract her and play with her, she screams down my ear hole.

I was hoping she would "grow out" of it. But no, and now its wearing thin. By the afternoon I have a banging headache and feel like screaming myself!!

Its not crying, there is nothing wrong her, she just likes to hear herself scream very loudly in a ridiculously high pitch!!

Has anybody else experienced this, and what can I do to save my sanity (other than ear plugs).

Teach her some other fun noises!! buy her pan pipes?

I remember writing the same post when my son was that age. My daughter did the same too.. Whinge and cry all day long Sad

Not much you can do other than try and distract them. Bouncer and baby Einstein worked for my son, nothing worked for my daughter!

I always felt much better if we went out, so keep busy and just try and be patient because it definitely will pass very soon Smile

A friend of mine's dd did this, she stopped going out because people would stare at her. I would definitely try other noises.

:( I hope it passes soon! Its been a few weeks now and I don't think my ear drums can tolerate much more. I find it hard to do anything in the house because the constant background noise makes it hard to concentrate!

Pan pipes? As in a CD?! I play her music and sing to her, which she'll enjoy for a few minutes until she gets bored of listening to me!

I think i posted something similar when my ds was 5.5 months. He stopped doing it after 6 weeks or so. Hang in there, tis just a phase. Finding their voice, also could be a bit of frustration at wanting to get mobjle
