children getting adult teeth

My DS (5) has lost his first lower incisor and the adult tooth is coming through at a 45 degree angle so not straight. The incisor next to this one (so the two middle incisors) is loose but i have noticed tonight that the adult tooth has already broke the gum behind the baby tooth but the baby tooth doesn't feel loose enough to fall out yet.
He went to the dentist last week with DH and the dentist didn't comment on the position of the wonky adult tooth and just said he had a few more wobbly ones. Should i be concerned about these teeth? I know the dentist wont do any straightening until all the adult teeth are through but what should i do about the loose baby tooth with the adult tooth already behind it?
TIA

my 4.7 yo DD has just lost her first milk tooth (10 days ago)- on the bottom at the front. I took her to the dentist when it was wobbly and he told me that when the new bottom teeth come through they tend to do so at a wonky angle, slowly straightening up over the next few months.

Lo and behold I can now see the new tooth has broken through the gum and it is at a slight angle with the corner nearer the centre of her jaw looking like its further back in the gum if that makes any sense.

the dentist doesn't want to see her again for another 9 months so I will keep an eye on it until then but hopefully if there are any problems he can reassure me at the next appointment

I just wish she hadn't had to go through losing her teeth quite so young but I guess it had to happen one day and at least now she knows what to expect the next time!

oops didn't answer your question about the wobbly tooth! Sorry I don't know what you do although I guess it will come out soon. If your dentist hasn't expressed any concern then I would try not worry

Thanks minty. His tooth that has come through sounds like it is in the same position as your dd's

You don't need to worry-perfectly normal.. Till the age of 10-11 anything goes with kids' teeth (unless there's a serious abnormality). What you're describing is the commonest dental occurrence in kids that tends to correct itself. We tend to worry about the 'wonkiness' of teeth once all the permanent successors are through. Once the baby tooth has come out, the adult tooth will drift forward (teeth move wherever a space is created)..

Thanks for the reassurance ebmummy
