my friends (5yo) dd was at my house playing with my (6yo) this week and her mother told me that her dd had said that the dcs had showed each other their 'private parts'. I don't feel very comfortable with this as we have told ds that his 'private parts' are private as are other peoples. Another friend has told me that some boys in school have made very sexual comments to her (5yo) dd. I want some advice on how to deal with this. I think that what my ds did was normal curiosity, but am very disturbed when I hear that other kids his age are talking about things that they are really too young to understand.

If it bothers you, tell your DD not to show hers to anyone except you and dH and doctors.
My DD was a sod for comparing hers to her friends. She was often quite graphic about differences. It didn't bother me in the slightest and she is now a 10.4 YO prude.

Mine is the DS and I have told him, but he is very curious at the moment (we have 3 ds and no dds!), he wants to see if everyone looks the same! I am sure it is normal curiosity (and I don't see anything wrong with it), but when I hear that other boys a year younger (5/6 yo) than him in school are making very sexual comments towards a girl I feel a little uncomfortable.
