So many questions!! Why do we have a chin?

DD is currently asking 100 question a minute bless her - I've taught her that when dp says to her stop asking questions or why do you keep asking questions she should reply "Because that's how I learn"

However...we've just had a major 'body' question session asking what every single thing is for and I was doing really well until we got to chin.... What is your chin for???

LilacBump · 15/12/2005 11:59

we have question from DD (4) about the body all the time. i was thinking of getting her a book (like those eye witness ones) about the human body. but i doubt they tell you why you have a chin

ARealWitch · 15/12/2005 12:08

The general theory is that the chin is the remainder of the lower half of the muzzle which has retreated with evolution.

Chins grow larger with the presence of testosterone so a large chin is seen as a sign of 'good' breeding and evolution is causing it to grow again.

FastasleepInAManger · 15/12/2005 12:09

The chin is for resting your on your hand when you're bored from being asked so many silly questions is what I would have said and then demonstrated it with a sigh!

FastasleepInAManger · 15/12/2005 12:09

on your* silly typing!

snowfalls · 15/12/2005 12:09

Your face would fall in without a chin!

Enideepmidwinter · 20/12/2005 09:16

so you can do 'chinny rub' when you don't believe someone

Jbck · 20/12/2005 22:32

DH told Dd it was somewhere for your food to dribble rather than going straight to your clothes, a sort of safety net if you will. She asks a lot of similar questions, maybe they're a secret testing team from the CIA

overdrafttopayforchristmas · 20/12/2005 22:35

so Jimmy Hill had royal blood flowinf through his viens? haven't heard of a chin rub for ages Enideepmidwinter

To tell you when you're putting on too much weight!

Ask your dd what SHE thinks her chin is for!
