For all of you who imagine my children are mannerless monsters!

I always seem to be posting in a manner that might suggest my children are little horrors who don't know the meaning of please and thank you. I am now unmasked because today ds and I went into the loo at Sainsbury's and ds read a sign that went: 'Wet Paint. Do Not Touch', and said, 'they got that wrong mummy. It should say 'Please do not touch. It's more polite'
Obviously it's going in somehow!
(he's not a ghastly little prig either btw!)

Aw bless! Quite right he was too!

I think many of us portray our kids as little sh*tes on here because it's the awful things they do that we need advice and reassurance about..and so post about.. so I'm sure nobody thinks negative stuff about yours, Aloha

Aloha

The Inferiorettes only know Peeze and Fankoo because of their childminder. I was genuinely amazed to discover that DD1 was acquainted with the terms

AwayInAMunker · 03/12/2005 19:59

I'd always imagined your children to be lovely, Aloha!

That sounds very sweet - lovely boy

AwayInAMunker · 03/12/2005 20:01

Mind you, one of DS's very first words was "bis" ("please") - but it meant "GIVE ME THAT NOW AND I KNOW I'M CUTE SAYING BIS SO I KNOW IT'LL WORK VERY WELL" followed by a huge grin. Wonder who he gets that kind of manipulative behaviour from?

ScummyMummy · 03/12/2005 20:04

Awww. Sweet ds.

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 03/12/2005 20:14

..many of the people I have the most respect for are faceless people with odd names who I have never ever met...

(Lol re Hunker's Ds's 'bis')

Nightynight · 03/12/2005 20:19

oh - how sweet!

Heathcliffscathy · 03/12/2005 20:20

aloha i never imagine your sprogs to be mannerless....quite the opposite in fact, what gets to me is that you manage to raise them without raising your voice or resorting to negative punishment rather than positive parenting.....

misdee · 03/12/2005 20:22

yo8ur kids mannerless? nah, you are having a laugh, your ds dounds very intelligent from your posts about him, and lovely, and your dd is too young surely

PantomimEDAMe · 03/12/2005 20:23

Well, when I had the pleasure of meeting your ds, I thought he was rather lovely. So there!
The Inferiorettes are very sweet too. And Inferiorette Major is very forgiving of grown-ups who spill wine all over her...

bossykate · 03/12/2005 20:42

i never imagined your ds was mannerless, aloha, but what truly impresses me in this story is that he read the sign himself

thecattleareALOHing · 03/12/2005 22:07

Ah, I helped him with 'paint'...and Sophable, I wish I never shouted!
Whenever there is a manners thread, I always read my posts and think 'Her ds sounds dreadful'!
I still have to prompt for pleases in day to day life and he does have a shocking habit of acting like a third world dictator over breakfast (damn those low blood sugar levels).

Aren't all small children capable of teaching Mussolini a thing or two?
