HELP - 10 month old with chronic wind

My 10 month old daughter developed chronic wind five days ago and we just don't know what to do for her. She has it throughout the day but it is much much worse at night. She sounds like an adult man trumping and is obviously in pain with it.

We give her gripe water in each bottle and before she goes to bed.

We've analysed what's changed or what can be causing it but are not sure. She was definitely teething at the beginning of the week and have been giving her Medised of a night time to help with this (or Calpol)..could it be this? She's also off her food which is usual when she's teething and she's eating Weetabix for morning, but will only eat Cottage Pie for lunch and dinner, followed by petit filous...but I can't see what is in that that could cause this.

The books don't mention this in an older baby, she used to suffer badly with wind when she was first born but it's been gone for months now.

Her nappies have been runny and beige, but the last two mornings they've been dark and 'healthier' looking.

Am I missing something?

Should I take her to the doctor?

Is this normal?

Please help, last night was the worse night yet.

I don't know what could be causing it possibly the medicine but my daughter suffers from wind on and off and she is now 2. She also trumps like her dad!!!! I found colccynthus powder good. It is a homopathic medicine and is basicaly cucumber powder. Most chemists do it - although it is expensive but you can get it on prescription. I found it much better than gripe water or infacol etc. Good luck!!!

My ds2 suffered from really bad wind from about 6 weeks. He was as bad as a man and smelt worse. He was bf. At 6 months when we started solids we found out he had food allergies and as soon as all foods were eliminated from my diet the wind stopped. Pale beigy poos may also indicate a food intolerance/allergy. Have you introduced any new foods?? May well be nothing but worth thinking about.
