do you think ?

ds2 is being assessed at the moment and i was asked if he was a late walker.

would 16 months be considered unusually late ?

My developmental paed report comments that "DS's gross motor skills were delayed". FYI he crawled at 12 months and walked at 18 months.

BTW I think that the OPs DS is 12 so I don't think she is concerned that her DS is late walking, just that delayed gross motor skills often go hand in hand with SN.

or more that if a child has SN, they may have had delayed milestones rather than all children with delayed milestones has SN IYSWIM

During ds's developmental assessment, they asked when his sisters walked, dd1 16 months they said - 'average', dd2 21 months - 'late'.

apparently not crawling goes hand in hand with dylexia. dd didnt crawl ever - she bum shuffled. if hse ends up dyslexic she will be a genius with it as theres no flies on her :)

This is all very reassuring for me too. My daughter is not even thirteen months yet and I was starting to stress about the not walking, as she doesn't crawl either!! Just started walking, holding my hands though!!

My ds is 17 month and bum shuffling, can stand for ages when supported by something, such as table etc. but will not pull himself up? Seen health visitor and legs are fine, so I suppose its just a waiting game? I can't wait though as my back is killing me! X
