So it's happened. I became a boring mummy.

Daddy, otoh, is the best thing ever Hmm Grin

DD is 2.5. For the last two weeks I'm not allowed to read her bedtime stories if daddy's here, she wants daddy to play with her and cuddle her, etc, etc.

It coincided with stopping bf and me leaving for 5 days.

It's a normal phase isn't it?

I've not been allowed etc

Yes it is normal. They all do it. Don't worry she will dump daddy unexpectedly and you will be the favoured one. They are cruel Grin

IAmTheCookieMonster · 06/06/2011 22:25

when I stopped bf my 13 month ds became a lot more interested in daddy, but I think its nice for dh to be wanted for a change and I get a bit more peace :-)

winnybella · 06/06/2011 22:28

Oh, yes, CookieMonster, I cherish the peace Grin

Still, she was my little baby and I was THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON in her life

Really, Norman? Are they that fickle?

Make the most of it and enjoy having some time to yourself. It won't last!

winnybella · 07/06/2011 08:37

It won't? Is there some kind of pattern to this?

At least you got to 2.5 years! DS 11m and as soon as daddy is home/ weekends I get dumped.
I'm pregnant too so that only adds to the guilt.
I think with my DS it's because daddy isn't here all day long and when he is here, he bathes him- bath time is DS' favourite thing to do. DP plays different games- chasing him on the floor etc so I just look boring in comparison.

fun12 · 07/06/2011 12:41

Totally normal and if you appear upset she will do it more. I agree with winnybella - enjoy the peace.

matana · 07/06/2011 12:55

My DS is 7mo and when daddy comes home i don't get a look in. I swear he doesn't smile at ME as broadly as he smiles at my DH! And i can never make him giggle like daddy makes him giggle. But then he sees me all day every day so probably just appreciates the break!

And when he's feeling down or ill it's me he wants Grin

Tgger · 07/06/2011 22:40

Can empathise. I get "I WANT DADDY!!!" when it's me saying No! etc.

winnybella · 08/06/2011 23:34

It's back to mummy being the best person in the world, daddy can't do anything right today, well, he's not allowed to do anything.

'Mummy read the book. NOT daddy!'
"Mummy pull up the diaper. NOT daddy"

mwahahaha poor DP.

So funny, isn't it? My DD (3) was a real Daddy's girl around 2.5 but now is a Mummy's girl Grin despite me being the tough disciplinarian in the family.
