Sudden stammering in my two and a half year old....should I worry?

My DD is two and a half and was a vey confident and fluent speaker but she seems to have suddenly developed a stammer and gets stuck on particular words in her sentences. It doesn't always happen and it doesn't seem to be linked to stress - and she doesn't seem bothered by it either. Should I be worried about it?

Well I can't speak for all children only to say that my DS did this very thing around the same age and I admit I was concerned.
I was told to ride it out, they do funny little things like this and come out the other end of it.
He is now a confident 9 year old with no speach issues. So I would say don't worry too much about it yet. Give her some time to come out the other side of it.

Speach?? Jeez I mean speech.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Its probably just the brain working quicker than the mouth so they are tripping themselves up. My DD does it if she's very excited or tired

In my red/blue book (dcs 13 and 15) it actually asks if the dc has passed the stuttering stage yet? So would assume it is perfectly normal to stutter at some point.

I was told when my fluent dd started doing this to stop what I was doing (sometimes easier said than done) - bend down to her level and just listen to what she was saying. Took a few months for her to grow out of. I was also told it was a normal stage particularly for a very good speaker.
