Beloved Jellycat lost!

Very loved bunny has been thrown out of the buggy unnoticed by grandma and I have pretty narky baby on my hands (15 months). I had a back up (exact same one) but she doesn't seem very interested in him - probably coz he's all new and fluffy not like her former rag.

I've been trying to rough him up a bit and have even thought about running over him with the car Hmm (I realize I sound completely insane - but she really did love it) Has anyone got any tips, or do you think it's pointless trying to get DD to love the new bunny? I know she'll get over it, I'm just a bit sorry because he was such a source of comfort for her - and I've been up about 4 times with her in the night as she's unsettled and I guess this is why :-(

I slept with a replacement toy for a few days to break it in, so it had my scent all over it. Mmmm, lovely.

My DS lost a toy at a similar age. We had a replacement and it took a few days but he did come to love it as much. He still had it at 3 and it's now very battered. It took me a year to track down another one on eBay and now there is no hope of him being fooled. They each have their own names and personalities now. Oh, and it was my MIL pushing buggy when our original got lost too Angry.

thank you that gives me hope. I'll persist with new bunny induction, and I guess buy another back up. This is why Jellycat make so much money Shock

I replaced DS's Jellycat monkey when DS was about 2 as it was so stinky and crusty I thought it was a health hazard. I switched it one day with a new fluffy monkey. DS was a bit shocked at first and asked where his monkey was. We explained he had to go in the wash and DS was fine with it. Strangely though he never chewed new monkey and still refers to the replacement as 'new monkey' occasionally and still talks about his first monkey. I felt guilty after a few days and was going to return the old monkey to him but I put him through the wash and he turned into a really crusty mess. Oops. I've learnt my lesson not to mess with my children's toys Blush.
