Bedwetting 12yo but only occasionally.

ds2 is 12 now and still occasionally wets the bed, possibly only once a month. Not a huge issue but does mean he is nervous of sleepovers etc and if he does sleep over he wears pull-ups but doesn't want his friends to notice. Haven't seen GP yet but what would they normally do? Seems a bit extreme to wear an alarm for example, particularly as it's not every night. Any ideas?

I can't really offer any suggestions but just wanted to say i really feel for you and your DS, I wet the bed until I was 14 and remember having an accident on a sleepover (they didn't have pullups in my day). All I can say is perhaps have the sleepovers at your house - that way if anything happens at least he can cover it up and you'll be there to support him. PS - I saw an advert for underjams the other day - don't know if they would fit your DS? They are supposed to be more quiet than pull ups.

Big hugs xxx

dd (10) still wets. she has a prescription for Desmopressin, to take on sleep overs etc. works a treat and no need for pull ups. maybe think about referral to enuresis clinic or have a look at Eric website is very good. hth. x

It's worth going to GO just to rule out any physical problems, but tbh I wouldn't worry too much. My DSS (now 21) did this until your DS's age. No reason for it and like your DS only now and again. It was about 12 that he stopped. This is surprisingly common in boys I think and probably nothing to be too alarmed about. Smile

Thanks all. I will be bringing him to the GP anyway but nice to know we're not aloneSmile Will ask about Desmopressin.
