for quite a silly reason too. she's 4. after time out in her room when we got home and a big chat about how naughty biting is, my choice of punishment is no treats (biscuits, chocolate, etc) for the rest of the week. she started crying when i told her this. does that punishment seem fair?

seems fair to me. And today is Wed already so not a long way to go

LilacBump · 09/11/2005 16:26

she will go to her grandparents on saturday and she will still not be allowed to get any treats there either.

Seems fair to me too. IMO 4 is old enough to know that biting is unacceptable, and to understand that bad behaviour has consequences.

fredly · 09/11/2005 17:33

ooooh now... I would personnally ask the grand parents not to give her any treats. Just to reinforce your authority. But then it's only me

fredly · 09/11/2005 17:34

oops sorry, misread your post !

LilacBump · 09/11/2005 17:39

oh no, fredly, you're right. i will be firm and tell her grandparents they aren't allowed to give her treats. whether or not they will listen is another matter!
