Paddies at 14 months?

Took ds to feed the ducks today. We did this for about half hour and I said to him it's time to go. He had a MASSIVE strop to the point of not being able to breathe he was crying so much.

These episodes are becoming more frequent to the point of being every day. He is teething, but if I try to stop him from doing somethinglike picking up goose shit and eating it he chucks a wobbly.

Not sure what to do. I bear hug him which calms him down eventually, but outings are becoming a bit of a nightmare.

Anyone with the same prob?

Yep! Little one is 16 months and exactly the same. A real drama queen when she wants to be. Unctrollable crying and turns herself into a dead weight! I am tending to try distraction, as when she's in a state she doesn't want to be cuddled (just makes her angrier!). If we are at home I sometimes leave her to it. I explain why she can't do what she wants, and then carry on doing something else (usualy staying within sight so she doesn't feel abandoned). She usually then decides she does want a cuddle or becomes interested in what I am doing. When the strop is over we have alittle cuddle and that's that. It's when we are out and about that I really struggle.

I think they have reached that age where they want to do everything their own way and are testing us! any other tips gratefully recieved!
