Where did my cheery DD go?

Please reassure me this is just a phase!
DD has just turned one and has started walking. Up to now she's been a really confident, independent sort who loved nursery (she's been going for 6 months now), happily sat and listened to a story, fed herself (messily) with a spoon and would let me leave the room if I said 'back in a bit' first.
Now, however...
My changeling is perfectly happy right up to the time I hand her over at nursery, at which she screams like a banshee - I never get reports of her laughing or enjoying things any more, rather slightly concerned reports of her being 'a bit quiet' all day which is really unlike her. At home she has the attention span of a gnat and will pick out a book only to throw it away as soon as I've opened the first page; won't sit to play with anything at all (won't sit down at all most of the time); insists on my feeding her or eating with her hands; and screeches even if I move away from her in plain sight at home. The one and only thing that keeps her occupied for more than a second is standing and throwing clothes out of drawers. Bedtime, which used to be relatively easy, has become an hours-long ordeal and always ends in screams.
She had chickenpox a few weeks ago and I expected her to get clingy after that, but it seems to get worse every day rather than better. The combination of clingy and hyperactive is really wearing me out! Please reassure me this will pass before I lose it completely?

My ds is 14 months and sounds the same as your dd. He started walking about three weeks ago and that seems to have been the trigger for a behavioural change. He has also stared having massive paddies where he physically hurts me (tries to gouge out my eyes)

It will pass, one thing I've learnt is that nothing is ever consistent when it comes to kids.

Thanks everyone - mystery was solved when three molars popped through last week! She took a few steps unaided at nursery and is back to her old self there now - I suspect the teeth must have been at least in part to blame! When I collected her last she was playing happily with a toy mouse and in no rush to leave, which was nice.
Some things still mystify me like the feeding regression, but she's starting to spear things with the end of the spoon occasionally so it may be she'd be happy with a plastic fork - we'll see. Trying not to compare to niece who happily uses adult cutlery age 2!
In the meantime she's started climbing stairs and out of the bath, so my grey hairs are multiplying Grin
