Any one else have a car-mad toddler?

DS is 14 months old. The interest in cars started about 2 months ago.

When will this obsession wane? Or is this likely to be a lifelong thing?

I live in a busy part of London and when we're out, the running commentary from DS is "Car! Car.....car. CAR! Beep beep! CAR!" and also "Car! Whee." (i.e. wheels) It's very sweet, but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep up the pretence of being fascinated by cars....

Of course, DH is happy because DS loves watching Top Gear with him.

Ds moved onto planes at about 3yo after going to Farnborough airshow. He still loves Minis though.

Ah, found this old thread about DS - had forgotten how little he was when he could do his car badge party trick. He’s about to start secondary school and still enjoys watching Top Gear - and now Grand Tour - with his Dad. Over ten years later, he still has an interest in cars, albeit the level of conversation is a bit more advanced these days How time flies.

My 4 year old was like this since he was a baby. He loves buses and used to start squealing all excited when he’d see one go past. Pretty much most of his toys are vehicles, he’s obsessed! I’d recommend the London transport museum, a very fun day out.

Love the ten year update Op, thank you! I found this while searching for threads which might tell me how long term DS's interest is likely to be. It looks like my investments in car toys will be worthwhile!
