Future (humourous) career prospects for DC's- based on current skills and interests.

It struck me recently that both my dd's would be heading for rather dodgy career choices if their current skills and interests were anything to go by, my mum says they never end up doing what you expect them to,which is probably a good thing.

DD1's (almost 4) current path is clear, she loves to dance, (all the time,) and sing and put on shows. Her specialty is prancing around stark naked when she is getting changed, wiggling her bottom and hips around and singing 'it's a show a naked dancing show.' and giggling a lot. So exotic dancer it is then! Blush

DD2 is only 14 months, so what are her strengths? Well for starters, wrecking the house in a matter of seconds, books, blocks, paper, baby wipes all over the floor if you dare to leave her unattended for more than a blink of an eye, 'turning it over' if you like,( and the quieter she is the more mess she is making.). Then there is the climbing up everything and her ability to climb through tiny cracks and to open gates, nothing is stopping her attempts at getting where ever she wants to be. Then she developed a new talent which perfectly complements her new skills... Taking notes out of wallets- £15.00 from Grandad's and £20.00 from DH so far. Now she just needs to learn how not to get caught and she has a promising future as a cat burglar. She'll need to do well though as shes already developed a small shoe fetish. Grin

Anyone else got any budding criminals/exotic dancers or are other dc already showing signs of being future pillars of society?

DD (4) will be a crazy chef as she gets food mixed up and asked for hula hoops on toast.
DS 10m def a doorman. He is drawn to any doors to play with/trap fingers in!

BringBackPacers22 · 05/05/2011 23:12

Excellent! Already a step up on my 2 then. Smile
Both of mine would love to eat at a restaurant that served hula hoops on toast.

DD (20 months) will be a high up manager or a mafia boss. Her first few words were to boss us and her brother around. At the moment if she gets cereal (which she is perfectly capable of feeding herself) she demands "DOWN" to me or DH, insisting we sit down on the seat next to her and attend to her every whim.

DS (4) will be a superhero stunt double, for those days where Superman is feeling a bit fragile and just wants a cuddle with his mum.

BikeRunSki · 05/05/2011 23:23

DS (2) loves/has loved shape sorters, jigsaws and all those sorts of things. He gets upset if something is not in its right place. If he does not go into some kind of numerate career I will be amazed; IT programming, engineering, maths, stats that kind of thing.

BlueyDragon · 05/05/2011 23:25

DD (4) will be a lawyer - argues every point and has to win all the time like mummy. Also clearly will do something intellectual as she is not the most physically forward (translation: unco-ordinated, also like mummy). Not suited for the next obvious alternative of politician after pointing out a picture of Granny "before Granny got old and wrinkly" (taken 10 years ago).

DS (14 months) will be an engineer or the dictator of a small country with a lot of off road vehicles - anything that involves wheels, destruction and instant responses to the imperious commands "Up" or "Dat", complete with pointing.

AngelDog · 05/05/2011 23:34

DS (16 months) will be a sportsman in some sort of ball game. I'm not sure there's one I can think of that involves constantly climbing up & down steps though as that's what he'd enjoy best.

Cream cheese taster would be his next preferred profession. Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 06/05/2011 07:45

DD - 10 next week will be either an actress or a singer. Her performances at bedtime are spectacular and her singing, constantly is annoying.
She too could have been a stripper/naked dancer. Whens she was about 7 her favourite thing was the nudey dudey dance. She is much more modest now and only I am allowed to look at her banjo. I don't particularly want to, but she is on public hair watch (sic)

Cosmosis · 06/05/2011 18:12

DS 8m is going to be a sound effect person for radio as he does a great range of squeaks, squeals and raspberries Grin

ApuskiDusky · 06/05/2011 18:35

DS1 (3) is heading towards a career as a marine biologist if his obsession with the Octonauts is anything to go by.

DS2 (9 months) will have to marry into royalty to take advantage of his primary talent - waving at every opportunity to all and sundry!

smoggii · 06/05/2011 19:21

DD (4 months) sumo wrestler!!!

Hotcupofteaplease · 06/05/2011 21:06

DS (2) make up artist... (yes, I did say DS); he has an unhealthy fascination with all of my chanel make up Hmm

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 07/05/2011 14:14

DD (17 months) will be one of those annoying people people who stand on busy crossroads trying to accost you with clipboards. Or a street evangelist. She just can't go anywhere without striking up a conversation with those around her.

Bumpsadaisie · 07/05/2011 14:57

My DD (just shy of two) will be a forklift truck driver, pilot a Eurofighter Typhoon, or be a pianist, These are the things that seem to excite her most at present. Confused

clarabella18 · 07/05/2011 16:41

DS aged 9 will be a future winner of mastermind with the specialist subject of star wars!
This is his main topicnof conversation, not just limited to the films but also the cartoons and the books. He cam turn any conversation, and I mean any conversation, around to the bloody subject!
Drives me crazy!

babster · 07/05/2011 16:48

Dd1's first words were 'dog' and 'duck', so we had her down as a future pub landlady.

FreudianSlipOnACrown · 07/05/2011 16:51

DD (3.10) - Disney film critic, botanist/zoologist
DS (1.8) - dinosaur :o or a builder/demolitions expert!

Bumperlicioso · 07/05/2011 17:06

Dd1 (3) - talk radio dj or journalist. Forget Paxo, dd's constant questions would drive any politician to tears!

Dd2 (7 mo) - cable tosser, shot putter or tennis player. She has a good range in grunts!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 07/05/2011 17:10

DD1 (6) police woman (high ranking and probably going into politics)

DD2 (15 months) con artist (and very good at that too, charm and all....)

They will see a lot of each others Grin

msbuggywinkle · 07/05/2011 17:45

DD1 I can imagine being a body art painter or tattoo artist, based on her skills with the crayolas on her sister and anyone else who sits still long enough.

DD2, etiquette expert. She's just turned 2 and is very firm about people saying please/thank you/sorry when necessary.

Bumperlicioso · 07/05/2011 18:51

Lol@lemouse!

BringBackPacers22 · 08/05/2011 16:08

Lol at all your replies, especially Kreecher and Babster. Thanks for giving me a giggle.

DD 12 months - performance artist. Sits in front of a xylophone and hits it repeatedly with a shoe; before ripping up a bit of paper and throwing the resulting 'confetti' in the air.

Failing that, pickpocket - she has managed to extract my wallet from my bag with surprising stealth...
