Went to pick him up on friday and was told he had bitten a couple of other babies!!! Was really embarrassed - he has bitten my toes at home a couple of times, and I sit him down on the floor and say "no" and ignore him when he tries. he's got 6 teeth, and they hurt!! lots!!

woo crawls deliberately across the floor towards my toes and grabs the big one and bites it!!! it is funny, but I know I'd be so upset if he was bit!

mine used to bite at that age but now she is 1.. she doesnt bite that much nowadays as i always say "No!" but now she had starting to say it back to me!!

he also tried to bite other babes at nursery when he was 71/2 months, but fortunately he hadn't any teeth at that point. was mortified anyway.

habit seems to have turned into giving kisses now that he's one. whether the other babies like it or not. but still thinks its the most hilarious thing in the world to try to bite my toes.

he got his come-uppance at nursery on thurs. another child bit his shoulder and drew blood! apparently he wasn't bothered though and just wanted to carry on playing.

mazzy - you may have to stop getting your toes bitten by your baba as he may get confused as same with mine as she pulled her Dads hair (she doesnt pull mine as i dont like it) and she going round pulling babas hair so ive tld Dp no more on baba pulling his hair

mazzystar · 05/11/2005 12:44

You are right.

Never let him actually get them any more. (has more teeth so hurts too much) We have a system whereby I give him a stern look and really don't crack a smile. Seems to stop him in his tracks.

Are you serious, they told off an 8 month old baby? That beats everything!

weesaidie · 05/11/2005 12:46

I wouldn't worry.

I have a bad news nursery nurse at mine. All the others say things like 'she was lovely, all smiles' or similar when I pick dd (18 months) up.

BNNN says, 'oh she doesn't like being told off does she (!?) or 'she threw her apple off the table today...' Oh no!

However when I went in on Wednesday I was told that this other child had scratched her face and I had to sign an accident report. I felt sorry for poor dd but worse for parents of scratching child! I bet dd got over it in about 30 secs, but those parents will have to hear all about their naughty scratching ds/d!

They just don't know any better, they will learn!
