My baby boy has just turned 4 months, since birth he has had the usual colic and also pretty bad silent reflux to which with the help of a really good pediatrician we have under control. At times he can be demanding and very grumpy but I guess its not much fun having reflux. On a really positive note he has always been a good sleeper and for the last 3.5 weeks solid has slept through from pretty much 8pm - 7.30am...within the last week he has found his voice, he already had a great set of lungs but obvioulsy with finding his voice he really appears to be enjoying shouting/screaming (not in pain screaming) and expressing himself in this manner. The last two nights on the bounce he has woken at 3am, shouting, squealing etc...this lasts for approx 1.5 hours and is only broken for a short spell by a feed (7oz) (his normal feeding is 7oz every 3 hours prior to bedtime) before continuing in the same vein when placed back in moses basket. During the 1.5hr he is not in anyway crying or whinging. Its like he stirs and then goes into full blown shouting to himself. He then doesnt wake up for an extra 1.5hr in the morning as if to compensate. Just interested to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Just wondering if he's starting to get more hungry, you could maybe do a dream feed around 10pm and see if that helps him sleep through again?

Totally normal - probably the 4 month sleep regression (1.5 hours awake at night is classic sleep regression behaviour, although it can also suggest overtiredness from being awake too long between naps in the day). My DS always does this when either overtired or when he's working on a developmental spurt.

More info on the regression here, here, here and here.

At that age, whatever their sleeping pattern is, it's bound to change a lot IME.
