Kids are so sweet when learning to talk

Think it's about time for a new thread about funny/lovely/cute things the DCs say when they are learning to talk Smile.

This is prompted by DS (18m) who has been on single words up to now, but has suddenly decided to start stringing words together. This morning after his waking breastfeed he pulled off and said "All gone" there was a slight pause, then a rather hopeful "Puddin?" Grin

Then we heard DPs car starting outside and DS said his first 3 word sentence "Daddy gone work". Bless.

Then at breakfast he asked for "more water"

He's never going to shut up now is he? Grin

bilblio - i love that stage. i nannied for a little boy once who always swapped TR or TH for F. he was given a red fire engine for his 2nd birthday and his parents took a video of him that went as follows:

Peter - "look Mummy, fuck"
mother - "TRuck Peter, t-t-truck"
Peter - "t-t-fuck" !!!!

that's definately one for his 21st birthday party!!! Grin

When DD was small, for ages her 'thank you', came out as 'fuck you'.
Once, a nice old lady on the bus gave her some chocolate and DD smiled sweetly at her and said 'fuck you'. I had to quickly explain[cblush]

Glad it's not just DD then.
A few months ago she would miss out the R's in "blackcurrant". BIL had hours of fun with that one :o

DD (2.5) was playing with granny when granny made her laugh and she sighed and said "Oh granny, you silly bollocks" Grin

20 month old DS has just discovered aeroplanes and helicopters but he can't manage those words yet. Every trip out is punctuated at regular intervals by insanely loud yells of 'sky! SKY!'

It's my favourite age ever. If I could start them at this age I'd have 5 Smile

My DD talked constantly as soon as she was able. One day when she was about 2 I was driving her, she was chatting in the back and clearly I wasn't giving her my full attention as she shouted "no say yes me, talk me."

Ceebeegeebies - with reference to your budder comment the astronaut Buzz Aldrin is so called because his sister referred to him as "my buzzer" and the name stuck. He later changed it to Buzz by deed pole.

Bilblio you just reminded me - ds1 used to drink "Buggerant" Grin

Ds2 (18mo today) grabbed his empty beaker the other day at mum and dad's, wandered into the kitchen, pointed up at the tap whilst waing said beaker up in its general direction and demanded "Put it!"

Most of the time though I'm really quite glad I don't understand what he's saying Grin
