DD is saving up to go away to summer school; is it fair to let her?

It's for Summer 2012

It will cost shed loads

She has sorted out her clothes to sell on ebay (I photo'd them tonight)

Her toys/ornaments will be tomorrow

Should we do car boots or just ebay?

It's completely unrealistic isn't it?

Really?

I kind of alternate between 'proud & excited' & 'scared'; it's not a safe career path

She can't really do a paper round here - it's too rural; they do it by 4x4s Grin

Weeding & cat feeding tho'

She may not be dancing for life Katy but there are lots of other careers that go alongside dancing on the stage if the stage turns out not to be for her...and you never know...she might just make it and have a successful career on stage.

Oh she is so committed, she sounds lovely. We're in Bromley is she wants to crash on our sofa for a week, she could get the train in, you could come and vet us first. My dd1 would be so jealous, she wants to be an actress but at 7 is a little young for summer camp.

Well DH took it up at 39 & at 58 is still teaching; he won a comp or two, did an ad a bit of 'extra' work - but he really loves teaching

We do have family in London, but that might be too much freedom for me to cope with.....who knows I may be more blasé in a year Wink

She is off helping to teach a drumming workshop today - left at 9:30 for workshop, lecture, talent show (at 6) & isn't back yet

It's hard to balance 'encouragement' vs 'stage mum'; but there is no way I could stand up in front of people & perform.

Her grandad can - he is a management consultant & does seminars; he calls it 'doing a turn' & treats it a bit like a show

DD has thought of a new idea

Can anyone help?
