Fussy eater - 22 months - help!

My toddler has eaten well up to now. Porridge and some toast for brekky, ham sandwiches at lunch, lasagne at dinner to name a typical day. Also snacks in between of bananas, raisins, apples.

I don't know what has happened as she has gone off porridge and weetabix totally, will take a few spoons of bran flakes. Will take ham out of the sandwich and leave bread, won't eat pasta anymore or mashed potato. It's driving me crazy. doesn't want bananas either which she loved before....

Today she had some soup and little bits of cheese, some apple and a fruit pouch. Generally very picky and hugely reduced diet compared to before. This has been going on for a few weeks now...... Would love her to eat well again, it's such a relief knowing they are getting their food. Anyone else with the same? :( Is it a phase???

PS have switched to toddler growing up milk now as am concerned she doesn't get her fill.

Wish I could help.

My DS was a fantastic eater, weaned really well and would eat anything. Then he hit 20 months and became very very fussy.

He is now 3.2 and I am still hoping he will grow out of it. I have been told by others that they do but it does tend to be quite a long time.

Not much help here either I feel.

My DD was never a great eater but got really fussy before her second birthday. she's now 2.3 and I'm learning to live with it. At nursery she sometimes misses most of the meals as she only likes Pasta really. When at home with me I try to just give her what I know she will eat so it's pasta with a veggie sauce (blended with milk)or a cheese sauce. I also managed to get her onto potato by giving her frozen potato 'smiles' from the supermarket. she loves them as they are round faces with eyes and a smiley mouth - he he.

To be honest, if your toddler is eating Soup, cheese and fruit then thats veggie/fruit/protein so ok; maybe try potato in a different form or let her 'choose' what she wants to eat from the cupboard - maybe pasta shapes in a tin (they do ones with favourite characters on them - managed to get my DD to eat this way).

I've been told by the Health Visitor that by DD won;t starve herself and will grow out of it. Keep offering something new say, once a week and give them what you know they will eat, however narrow a choice.....

It's really frustrating I know.....

Thanks!

Will try the smiley faces and some pasta shapes and see how that goes. What's bugging me is trying to get some carbs into her!!!!

Oh well we can only try our best and then it's up to them really....
