DD1 has had a nasty bug but is pretty much over it now. Even before this she had started to be a bit picky with her food but the Bug knocked her appeteite completely for a few days.
Its back now and she will happily scoff choc/yoghurts etc but has become a complete pain in the butt with dinners.
Even dinners I know she loves and would eat before, she will faff about with and refuse to eat, but then ask whats in the fridge (ie wanting a yoghurt)
I would tend to say Tough Luck and go hungry, she'll soon learn but shes loosing weight and cant really afford to as shes already a skinny rake! I can easily get my hand round her arms and legs. Her clothes are just hanging off her. Also she gets tired quickly without the food for energy which means she flags after a few hours and her behaviour gets progressively worse the more sleepy she gets ending in total melt down.

My DM think I should just feed her up on ice cream, choc etc but I know that this would back fire and she will refuse even more food expecting the junk and its just empty calories

Any suggestions? Any particuarly good foods to try and fatten her up with?

how about bread and butter pudding, nursery type foods, scrambled eggs, home made pancakes?

All soft, yummy and bound to give her a bit more oomph.

Avocardos and bananas. Probably not together. Wink

Personally I would go easy on her if you are concerned- get her to a place where her energy is good and she is a healthy weight (how much does she weigh?) and then you can be more strict again. My DD is also pretty small (28 months and 26 pounds). She has a huge appetite though, which includes proper meals, apples and bananas but also chocolate biscuits!

Does your DD like bread or bananas? After several school runs taking older bruv to nursery and DD scoffing biscuits like they were going out of fashion I now restrict her to bananas and bread to snack on and this works well. She still asks for biscuits sometimes but will settle for bread (french stick) or banana.

If she's had a bad bug it will probably take a while to be properly over it, so give her a bit more leeway before you restrict her to the healthy(ier) stuff.
