Confused Just seen this link for baby sensory classes, has anyone had any experience of anything like this at all? The bubbles sound fun at least

A baby?s first year is such an important time in their life. They grow, develop and learn so much. To give your little one a helping hand and lots of fun on the way, we have teamed up with Baby Sensory.
Baby Sensory provides a warm and welcoming environment for parents to explore a variety of sensory experiences (visual, auditory and tactile) together with their baby. Their classes encourage physical contact (massage, reflexology, touching, cuddling and rocking) and the promotion of speech. Activities include; Fibre optic light shows, bubbles, bells, musical fun, baby signing, puppet shows, amazing light balls and more.
Each class includes a variety of different baby development activities plus a discovery playtime, during which your baby can enjoy our exploratory play area whilst you have the opportunity to mingle with other parents.

We've been going since DS2 was four months. He loves it and so do I. Have met some nice mums there too.

Baby sensory is my favourite baby class

its just magical.

Highly recommend it and its the one thing is really really want to do with my baby!

We do baby sensory at home by making our own sensory baskets.

Cheaper and much more fun, the toddler loves the baskets too.

Their classes encourage physical contact (massage, reflexology, touching, cuddling and rocking)

Surely you do all that with baby anyway! Physical contact? I assuming you just don't leave them propped in a corner somewhere when no at these 'classes'

I'm sure they are great for some mums, but I all sounds like trying to get money out of mums for things we do at home anyway.

It's the only class I bother with, my daughter loves it, always has since she was six months. They do lots of different things:

  • turn out all the lights and play with LED toys
  • messy and water play
  • lots of songs with rattles, bells, good noisy stuff Grin
  • we often all float a parachute up and down and the babies lie under it, they are totally amazed by it

Oh, and the best bit is...she is always fast asleep five minutes after we leave Wink

i agree with 4foxache, it didnt seem any different from play at home. At least i didnt waste any money though- the sensory classes near me are run by the local childrens centre so are free
