My 3 year old has put a bit of sponge up his nose...little sod! What can I do to get it out, have tried the bloke other nostril and blow in mouth thing but it didnt work...he's quite upset that it's up there and won't come out! Not sure how big/small the sponge is.

DS1 stuck a baked bean up his nose when aged 3 and we ended up getting it sucked out in local A&E. Ring GP, they may have some small tweezers they could try?

I would leave it for maybe an hour, for some mucus to build up and then get him to blow his nose as hard as he can.

If it doesn't come out, would be looking at medical intervention, I'm afraid

under no account should you try to poke it out

(knows story of young lad who crammed synthetic foam up his nose so much it became impacted and had to have minor surgery to remove it)

Thank you, DH has gone to work now with the car so I'm praying after his bath he may be able to blow it out. If not will have to get a sitter over and a lift to A&E...really don't need this today, bloody kids!!! Hmm

My brother did this. Mum couldn't work out why she could see blue bogies, then realised where the bits of blue sponge had been going.
They had to take him to hospital. The hospital basically got a pair of long tweezers to get it out. It's difficult because it twangs back in though Hmm
