I have just bollocked dd1s friend

fed up with feeling that I always have to blame dd1 when it was clearly not her fault

katierocket · 26/10/2005 17:35

why do you feel that you always have to blame dd Enid?

in answer to teh question Cod, yes. LOL at your friends DS quivering at the mere thought of you.

Ds and his little friends were playing in one little friends bedroom.

My friend went in and noticed ds had teary eyes and red cheeks and asked what was wrong. Ds said that the little host had hit him.

My friend started to sort out the little host and my ds said "No, I can handle this - xxxx gentle hands please and don't hit me again or I'll go home". He's only 2.5 and said it quite calmly. He didn't get hit again and they were best of friends 2 minutes later.

To me this shows that my way of discipling works, and that ds understands and copies it. I love the way he wanted to handle the situation himself.

lovely story bobbybob. Bob sounds like a real star! You must be very proud of him

bobbybob · 27/10/2005 00:47

I am proud because he's turning into the sort of person I would like to be naturally. At his age I would have whacked the other kid back and never been asked back.

Thanks for posting LewisLewis & Harrizeb. It goes to show that we do whatever works for us, and there is no one "right" answer when it comes to parenting.
