First thing I think if you've given her a once over and can't see anything is take her in the morn.g to get her ears checked.

Could still be teeth as they move around with causes pain.

Have you tried calpol?

JennyMorgan27 · 17/03/2011 18:37

i haven't givin her calpol as she doesn't have a temp. i looked online for symptoms of teething and everything they have listed she has so maybe it is that but then why don't the gels work?

Yes, I'd say take her to GP to check ears. Some of the symptoms are similar to teething - we had this with my dd at the same age. She wouldn't necessarily have a temp, but Calpol will help with discomfort. If you try Calpol and it does settle her that would give you an indication that something somewhere is hurting.

Grrr reply didn't post!

In short....
As pp said. Calpol isn't just for temps. It's a paracetimal and will ease her pain if it is something like teething or ear ache.

Give her some and FX'ed it will help.

My DS had similar at 6 months, all the symptoms of teething but no teeth - the teeth turned up about two weeks later. Calpol is a general painkiller and i agree with the others, try giving her some because what ever the cause of the discomfort its likely to help.
Teething gels have never worked on my DS, now 17 months.

I have found that the teething gels are rubbish because they get licked/dribbled off before they could possibly work.

I have found Ibruprofen based products e.g. Calprofen to work really well for teething as they reduce pain and inflamation
