Smack question?

Helllloo

Sorry if this seems like a wierd question, but i just wanted to ask some of you something about smacking.
With me, I generally use a variety of different disciplining techniques in my house, which includes smacking sometimes, which means 1 good smack/pat on a little bottom. However, my question comes when I sometimes lose my rag, and someone has done something real serious, I sometimes give 2 or 3 small smacks on the botty. I just want to know, is this OK? Am i the only mummy who gives more than 1 plonk in some situations?

P.S. The other day I was talking about this to my good friend, and she says that when she has to smack, she smacks on the arm etc? Is this commonplace or something. Ive always associated 'smacking,' with 'bottoms,' do others agree????

Soz for the lon questions, but would much appreciate suggestions from other mums!!!

I'm sure you'd see better results if you just wacked them all over, or even better encouraged a full on punch up.

YAWWWWWWWWWNNNN!

Agree, Rickman. I'm not even going to get into the smack/not to smack debate cos it's too late at night, but if someone comes on and asks a genuine question, it's polite to answer it constructively.

Hattie05 · 23/10/2005 23:14

do you not think the first post is a bit out of order?
Does the name and the fact that it has not posted before not give you the image of a dirty old git sat behind his screen waiting to get his fix?

JoolsToo · 23/10/2005 23:14

are you new to mn saucemummy?

smacking is a contentious issue

JoolsToo · 23/10/2005 23:14

Sorry but for a first post I find this odd too. So I won't be posting my views. (look at the language etc - bet we get a huge defence now because it is attention, oh well, I'm off in a minute!)

fairyfly · 23/10/2005 23:17

only smack when they are boys and over the age of 25, preferably round the groin area with your foot

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 23/10/2005 23:17

I'm fab thanks lockets - a bit lonely sometimes as dh is away all week (til next July then he's here permanently!). I'm going to see backstreet boys with GDG this week - I think a paperbag over the head is called for - or a quick face lift!

How are all the lockets/froggys?

QueenVictoria · 23/10/2005 23:37

Excellent choice Happylockets!

It all falls into place sometimes with the sleep thing. Very pleased for you and froggy.
