Is grazing healthy for a toddler?

DD eats 3 meals, at the table.

But she also asks for food all the time.

Should they eat just 3 meals and 2 snacks, or is grazing fine?

My DD is 2 and sounds the same. I don't really care TBH, as long as she's eating breakfast, lunch and supper and her grazing is not crap (mostly) she may graze away! She is strange and asks for carrots and cucumber at odd times, can't see that it'll do her any harm though.

When ds was smaller and wanted to graze all the time I did him a little dish with stuff in it for the morning and filled it again for the afternoon so he had the freedom to graze when he wanted but I also kept a handle on how much and what he was eating instead of getting distracted and forgetting what I had already given him or having dh and I both giving him a biscuit thinking he hand't had one yet.

Oh, that's a good idea, Indith.

i think while they are growing and running around a lot they can burn off anything they eat. My DS often grazes but always eats his meals as well so he's obviously genuinely hungry.

If she is eating snacks plus all her meals than i wouldn't worry. If she starts to leave her meals - give her fewer snacks or stop snacking an hour before eating.
