Moving house with 2 toddlers, them sharing a bedroom and what on earth do you use a conservatory for?!

We're moving from a 2 bed flat into a 3 bed house. At the mo, DD is in with us, she's nearly 2. Not a great sleeper. Goes to bed later than DS and needs less sleep by a good 2 hours or so.

Don't want to overthink this but, do I ask her brother 3.3 months if he wants to share a room with her? Or not bother about asking him and just put her in the teeny room - cot will just about fit in there but not a lot else.

Just worrying about her being on her own, she still feeds in the AM so is used to coming into our bed.

Also, we have a conservatory - was hoping to use this as a playroom but would it be too cold? It's off the kitchen, would the kids use it? What do people use one for????!!!!

i agree with above lol! id go for the small room and use the conservatory as a play room (hence keeping ur lounge tidy) plus gives the option of space for ur child if thier room is small and u can still keep an eye - and in winter just think how great itl b at christmas u culd lock the tree in there away from inqusitive fingers!!! :-D

I am going to go against the other two and say put them in together.

I have two in together and it's very nice, the older one sleeps better now (in spite of the screaming). Bizarrely he usually manages to just sleep right through it.

At first I put them to bed at different times and it wasn't a problem. At three they tend to sleep quite deeply and be ok about going back to sleep if the younger one wakes them.

My children are very close in age and they can share a room happily but have their own rooms at home. The main issued I have faced when they are sharing a room is the fun and games at bedtime, otherwise they've been really good. I used to have a conservatory and I used it as a dining room (had a small kitchen and no other space) and as a play room, it was great, in the winter I used an old carpet on the floor and a little electric heater and it was fine.

Good luck with the move!

We use our conservatory as a playroom - it's great for keeping toys out of my way! It has 2 small radiators and we had an extra heater for winter but it wasn't usable on the coldest days so weeks at a time in 2009/10 winter so we had to bring toys through into the house. This winter we put an old carpet in there (didn't lay it properly, just rolled it out) and that helped a lot as the floor was really cold, and then we finally invested in conservatory blinds which are eye-wateringly expensive but have helped cosy it up loads and it can be used even on the most freezing of days happily (maybe with a thick jumper!). The blinds are super expensive, but most of the heat loss is from the roof so you could just get the roof ones done to save money as they help keep heat in a lot.

We use our conservatory as a play room too. It is SW facing, so this time of year it is lovely and warm. We also have a tv with the wii attached.
It has made the sitting room tidier, as all the toys now live in the conservatory, they come out at times, but always return :)
