18 weeks - screams when change nappy anywhere that's not home

My daughter is generally a very good and happy baby and loves going out to different places and leaving the house. But over the past few weeks, whenever I need to change her nappy and I'm out somewhere she really screams. She's fine with nappy changes at home and smiles through them and changing her elsewhere never used to be a problem. It happens at friends houses or nappy change toilets in restaurants, and the screaming starts as soon as I lay her down, before I even start undressing her. It's a frightening kind of scream and continues until she's dressed again and I've picked her up. I've tried distracting her with toys, singing to her etc but nothing seems to help.

If anyone has any advice it'd be much appreciated, we're going away soon for a week and can't face this for every nappy change!

My suggestions are either a song, which you always sing at nappy time and can then sing at nappy time elsewhere, or a toy which you always give her at nappy changes at home and can take along with her. I think it's probably the unfamiliarity that she doesn't like. The song was the one useful piece of advice given to me by my late mother. DS's was "How much is that doggy?" and I would sing it while holding him from his being tiny. I have used it to calm him in all sorts of places including an Italian train!
Hope this helps!

Take your own changing mat and the same toys every time, and sing the same somg. Change her on your lap if you can. And be fast!! Sorry not very helpful that last bit :)
