DD has been dry at night for well over a year and has recently wet the bed at least twice. She is very upset.

She came to me this morning and said she had a wee before bed and as soon as she got up but has wet the bed. I told her it didn't matter and to have breakfast and then a shower. She thinks she needs to go back in to nappies. I am happy to buy pull ups but is this the right thing to do? She is 7.5 and not a very heavy sleeper. She says she isn't worried about anything. I suggested she didn't have a bedtime drink of water and if she drank enough in the day she wouldn't need it, but am not sure if that is right. I am grateful for any advice.

She may be getting an infection or coming down with an illness- I'd say GPs just to check her out.

Any temperature, sore throat, pains? It's common for previously 'dry' children to wet when ill.

We say only water or milk after 4pm to avoid irritating the bladder, but I do allow drinks up until bedtime, making sure DD goes before settling down to sleep.

She isn't poorly but I have reminded her about drinking more earlier in the day. I will put a pad in her bed in case.
