Advice please, when can LOs start eating fresh fish?

My LO is 28 weeks and I have been doing blw, which he is loving. He eats most fruit and veg but I haven't yet tried him on any meat or fish. His first tooth came through yesterday and so I thought meat and fish can be put on the menu, but I'm unsure if you can give a 28 week old fish. I'm thinking of giving him some fresh salmon, cooked of course. Does anyone know if it is ok or not?

Many many thank for your time.

Now, but you're not meant to give too much tuna because of mercury.

There's a downloadable booklet about weaning here from the Food Standards Authority.

It says

"Avoid giving any shark, swordfish or marlin. This is because the levels of mercury in these fish can affect a baby?s growing nervous system. You should also avoid giving raw shellfish to babies to reduce their risk of getting food poisoning."

About now is fine. My two just loved the Annabel Karmel Salmon with a Creamy Chive Sauce. I bulked it out with some mash and they still have it now (albeit in "fish pie" form)!

My nearly 6month old grabbed some fresh cod off my plate this evening so I would say about now? Grin

Thanks for the advice, got the pdf leaflet from the Gov website, thanks so much, it was really helpful.

He had some fresh salmon and he wolfed it down, glad that I tried it.
