could ds be teething at 11 weeks?

My ds is 11 weeks old and is showing signs of teething. Last week I took him to the doctor as he's been refusing both breast & bottle. The doc thought it might be thrush and has given me an anti fungal gel to put on his tongue, but since then he's been chewing his hands and drooling and it looks like he's got raised pale bumps where his incisors will be on both top & bottom gums.

Feeding has been a nightmare for a week now and it's driving me to despair - has anyone else experienced early teething or milk refusal for other reasons?

At 3 months my DS started to teeth. Although first tooth didn't actually come til 6 months. I've read that some babies can be born with a tooth and it's still considered normal.

I found it really stressful at first. So you do need a plan of action when you think it's occuring.

I found best time for feeding is when they are just waking up as it doesn't appear to be as sore. When he gets to 3 months Baby Neurofen was a godsend and frozen teethers are handy too and then my biggest coping mechanism was jusy 'get out the house'. Quick walk in a sling or push in a pram can distract them til they nod off.

It gives you some peace, and chant to yourself "this soon shall pass"

Yes. My DD started exactly at the same age and she is now 13 weeks. She had her cheeks bright red one day and apparently that's a sign of teething. Plus obviously drooling and trying to push her hands as far as possible into her throat. Nelson Teetha granules very helpful. She even started to recognise them when I was getting them out. Don't worry though, if they start teething that early it will come and go. Some days it'll be a PITA, others nothing at all. For last few days she has not been bothered by it at all, just happily gnawing on her hands with no excessive saliva.

I was going to ask the same question and if so is this likely to go on for months before his teeth actually arrive? My DS is 13 weeks, red cheeked, dribbling and his hand gnawing has become really frantic and affecting sleep but i can't feel any teeth. I'm concerned we have another 3 months or so of this :(

My 11 weeks old doing the same thing-even he first had it about a week ago for a few days, then nothing at all. After a few days he started again-wanna chew on everything and drooling. I found massaging his gums quite works-one evening, when he was refusing to eat almost all day,and I knew he has to eat,I was massaging his gums-it worked wonder! He stared at me first with amazement, then calmed down, eat the whole of his food, then went to sleep. So I do it if he is very fussy about it. Give it a try,it might work for you as well,

Yes, it's common around that age - usually a few weeks older - but sounds like it's teething. Babies start teething from around 3 months but a tooth may not actually pop until 6 months. My DS is 14 weeks and has had red cheeks for a week or two, coupled with some hand chewing and drooling.

He has never refused the breast, but had some utterly bizarre meltdown about 3am Saturday morning just gone when DH tried to give him a bottle of expressed. He'd gone to bed fine for my sister with a bottle earlier (we went out for the evening) and took an 11.30 feed. But when he woke at 3am and DH tried to give him a bottle he screamed in a way that wasn't "I'm really hungry!" but more like "someone is trying to kill me!!" It tore my heart to hear him screech like that and nothing would pacify him until i offered him a boob. Confused

both my ds's had their first tooth through at this age. Both had most of the symptoms listed above.
