6yr old teething causing speech problems?

Has anyone experienced the onset of speech problems (pronounciation) in a 6 (nearly 7) year old because of teething?
Dd1 is now unable to say CH (says SH) and sounds like she's lisping. She sounds literally like she has a mouthful of teeth (back molars erupting, 1 incisor loose). Spelling is a problem e.g she writes V for TH as that's how she says it.

Need to know if this is common with teething as want to rule it out as being a possible side-effect of the anti-epileptic med she is on.

not sure - ds2 has what they call a "lateral lisp" - he talks like he has a mouth full of water Grin but they reckon it should 'fix' by the time he gets his adult teeth. Personally I do wonder if it's a cop-out, but I'm no expert.
Would it be worth a trip to the gp to see what you should rule in/out at this stage? Worth registering your concerns imho, even if it's not massively significant. They could refer you on to SALT at least?

If it's not teeth it could be a side-effect of her medication - in either case no amount of SALT will fix this, only time.
Just needed to know if it's common with teething.
Thanks for your reply MrsShrek x

My 6 yr old son has just got his front adult teeth which affected his speech for a few months. He hasn't been as fluent and has problems sayin his 'R' and 'L' sounds.

He still doesn't say 'TH' but 'F' and so he spells words like this e.g. Fank you etc. Apparently quite a common problem as is a late sound to develop.

Not sure about the meds - probably worth checking with GP as pp said..

Thanks smashing, it's reassuring to know that.
No point going to GP - dd has to have her medicine regardless so if it was because of that there's nothing that can be done.
